Swim?
Based in Walyalup / Fremantle, Western Australia, Joseph Dennis founded Swim Type in 2021, running the studio semi-professionally, working with clients and partners from right next door, to the other side of the world, including Koto, For The People, Pretty–Soon® and CHEP.
It exists as a place for play, experimentation and creativity – to dip a toe in, to test the water, to dive off the deep end, to immerse oneself – to swim. To build creative partnerships: working with art directors, photographers, illustrators, 3D designers, musicians, filmmakers, and writers to produce work that is engaging, meaningful and fun.
Trial Fonts
Trial fonts, works in progress and potential typefaces. These fonts are unfinished or unreleased, often missing punctuation, symbols, language support and kerning. They’re for use in type testing, student work and non-commercial personal projects. They’re for playing with, testing out and having fun. Freestyle
Every 2 months, a new wordmark is designed for the homepage and socials. Sometimes it will tease the release of a new typeface; sometimes it might coincide with the launch of a new project; or, it might be an isolated incident – an experiment in weirdness, wackyness and type design.
